Leave Kuala Lumpur behind and climb into the cool, misty hill country of Pahang on a full-day trip to the Cameron Highlands, Malaysia's largest hill station. First opened up as a retreat from the lowland heat during British colonial rule, the highlands are now known for tea, strawberries, and some of the country's most scenic drives.

The morning is spent at the BOH Sungei Palas Tea Estate, where neat rows of tea bushes blanket the hillsides as far as you can see. Walk the estate's viewing trails, learn how the leaves are picked and processed, and relax with a cup of tea at the plantation's own café overlooking the valley.

From there, continue to a working strawberry farm for a spot of fruit-picking, then on to the highlands' flower nurseries and cactus valley — a favourite photo stop for its colourful, terraced displays. Depending on the day's pace, your guide may also bring you past a local vegetable market, where highland-grown produce is sold fresh from the farm.

2. Journey to Cameron Highlands from Kuala Lumpur city center (3.5 hours approx.)
3. Visit BOH Sungei Palas Tea Estate — plantation walk and tea tasting
4. Lunch at a local restaurant (drinks not included)
5. Visit a strawberry farm for fruit-picking
6. Visit the flower nursery and cactus valley
7. Stop at a highland vegetable/produce market
8. Head back to Kuala Lumpur city for hotel drop off
9. 19:30hrs/later drop off at the same locations where pick-ups occurred (depending on traffic conditions)
