At around 500km, Kuala Lumpur to Kangar is one of the longer transfers on the peninsula — roughly six hours by expressway. It's exactly the kind of trip where a private chauffeur pays for itself: rather than driving it yourself after a long day, or piecing together public transport connections, you're picked up at your door and dropped off at Perlis's, with stops for rest along the way as needed.

Perlis rewards travelers who make the trip. Gua Kelam, near the town of Kaki Bukit, is a limestone tunnel carved by an underground stream and once used to haul tin ore — today a wooden walkway leads visitors straight through the mountain, exiting into a small valley on the other side. Kangar itself is a low-key state capital, easy to explore on foot, with Perlis's rural padi landscape starting just beyond the town limits.
