About this day tour

Escape the city for a day and head deep into the Pahang rainforest to the Kuala Gandah National Elephant Conservation Centre, run by Malaysia's Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN). Since 1989, the centre has been the frontline of Malaysia's "elephant translocation" program — relocating wild elephants that have wandered into farms and plantations, and caring for orphaned or displaced calves. On arrival, your guide will walk you through the centre's conservation work before the keepers bring the elephants out for their feeding session — a firsthand look at these gentle giants up close. Depending on the day's program, there's also a chance to join the elephants at the river for a bathing session, splashing and scrubbing alongside the herd under the keepers' supervision.
