Known as the "rice bowl of Selangor", Sekinchan is a small coastal town about 1.5 hours from Kuala Lumpur where bright green (or golden, depending on the season) paddy fields stretch out toward the Straits of Malacca. It's one of the most photographed rural spots in the Klang Valley — a favourite for its farm murals, windmill-style irrigation towers and laid-back kampung pace, a world away from the city. After exploring the paddy fields and the town's fishing village, the day continues with a boat ride out to Sekinchan's famous Sky Mirror — a shallow sandbank that surfaces at low tide, turning into a giant natural mirror that reflects the sky and clouds. It's a tide-dependent excursion, best a few days either side of the new or full moon, so your guide will confirm the best timing and boat departure slot for the day of your visit.
